Swim + Paddle to Toronto Island: Safety First

The following safety procedures must always be followed:

(1) swimmers must always be surrounded by vessels, e.g. a group of paddleboards goes together and surrounds the swimmers, forming a barrier to other vessels, as well as a visibility enclosure;

(2) spare lifejackets are mandatory, e.g. the total number of lifejackets must be at least equal to the total of the number of paddlers and the number of swimmers;

(3) navigation and communication, e.g. at least two independent communications devices onboard the surrounding vessels.

Having lots of fun but safety first.
