Cleanup of OBeach (Ontario Place Beach) assisted by underwater VR (virtual reality), and mapping of the beach to improve safety and situational awareness. Assist persons using a computational seeing aid or computer vision system to help improve safety in navigating and wayfinding. Scientific data collection on water and water quality at OBeach. Explore additional locations to swim at Ontario Place, e.g. East island facing the city of Toronto skyline... Mission and research:

SwimOP's goal is to:

  1. promote safe swimming in downtown Toronto in service of PAM (Physical, Affective, and Mental) health; and
  2. do advocacy work to keep downtown Toronto's only beach accessible to all people at all times of the year (in the face of privatizing forces that seek to maximize profits off of Ontario Place).

  4. Beach cleanup assisted by underwater VR (virtual reality), and VR mapping of the beach to improve safety and situational awareness;
  5. Assist persons using a computational seeing aid or computer vision system to help improve safety in navigating and wayfinding;

  7. Ontario Place is not just a summer park; keep it open at all times of the year for all of us!
